Is Wealthy Affiliate A Scam YES or No (Part Three) Q&A

In this post, I will address some common questions that might be asked of Wealthy Affiliate.

If for some reason you have an unanswered question please feel free to ask it in the comments section below and I will get back to you shortly, as all questions and concerns will not be addressed in this post but it is my intention to answer any questions that you might have in order to help you make the right decision for you.

Q- Can You Make Money Promoting Wealthy Affiliate or Any Other Affiliate Program Online?

A-

Let me answer that question just after I insert the standard disclaimer here as it just seems appropriate at this point:

Disclaimer: There is no guarantee that you will earn passive income online, make money, or achieve any kind of specific result in Wealthy Affiliate or any other program, by using the information or website described on this page, after all, individual results vary person to person and are determined by the knowledge and ambition of the person being involved. After all only you can determine your level of commitment to such a venture.

Now that we have gotten the legal-eze out of the way suffice it to say that if you are seriously contemplating giving Wealthy Affiliate promotional program, or any other affiliate marketing promotion then you need to start off with some truly realistic goals and expectations in mind. Because everyone’s situations and circumstances are unique and in order to help you make the right decision for you I would ask that you simply consider the following:

For a moment, set the hype aside, but you can make money here promoting the Wealthy Affiliate affiliate program, or any other of your choosing, but your individual success will only be determined by your own level of commitment. So ask yourself…

  • In your regular job, where you are most likely working between 35 and 45 hours per week how long would it take you to get a raise or even a promotion within the company? But your future within the company and your income are determined by your contribution to the company, correct? Well, your new venture will also require a certain amount of commitment and contribution on your part also, yes or yes?

  • The educational curve in the beginning of starting an online affiliate marketing program is quite extensive. But if you were forced to change career paths in your life, and needed to further your education to do so, then what would be the costs associated with going back to school? Now, of course, we all know that going back to schAnd I am not just talking about the financial costs associated, I am also talking about the personal costs, having to give up spare time with family and friends, endless hours committed to the study, just to name a couple. Yet, you would make that commitment for what reason? In hopes of a better life for you and your family! Now don’t get me wrong here… I am a person that believes that you should learn something new…EVERY DAY. As a professional educator for the past seventeen years, I love education and learning, and honestly, that is what drew me to Wealthy Affiliate in the first place, the plethora of resources available were just mind boggling to me. Heck, I could keep learning for a long, long time.

  • What would be the time and financial risks associated with establishing a new brick and mortar business? And what market segment would you be passionate about working in? You see the opening of a physical business is surely not cheap! Would you have to buy into a particular franchise operation, or would you go solo? For example, what do you think would be better, to open a Dunkin Donuts franchise, or John’s Coffee and Donut Shop? Now you surely could open John’s Coffee and Donut shop for far less money, but you would not get the support of a huge franchise, nor would you have the name recognition. Yet the price tag associated for example with opening a Dunkin Donuts well I just took this information from Dunkin Donuts site: http://www.dunkinfranchising.com/franchisee/en/process.html#processTimeline

What is the start-up cost for a new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant?

The estimated initial investment for a new Restaurant can range from $134,600 – $1,611,100, not including real estate, and depends primarily upon the number of Restaurants acquired; their size, configuration and location; who develops the real estate for and/or constructs them; and the amount and terms of financing.

Now even at the low end of $134,600 that is a lot of coffee and donuts you have to sell just to cover the initial investment, but people who own these franchises make money.

Not to mention all the other costs associated with running a brick and mortar type business.

Now I’m not saying that John’s Coffee and Donut Shop could not also make money, but people are much more likely to go with the known name, as opposed to the private shop.

So the costs associated with the brick and mortar world of business can be mind boggling as opposed to starting your new affiliate marketing business online. A business that you can truly start and develop FREE of CHARGE using the Wealthy Affiliate FREE Membership and working a few hours a week to develop your new business, a business that you are truly passionate about, a business that you love. Remember with the free program at Wealthy Affiliate you get two free websites that you cann build and promote, and there is no rule that you have to promote their service, you can develop two niches of your choice. And the best part of all is that your FREE STARTER Membership includes some awesome training in the development of your very own Internet affilaite marketing business.

  • Say for example that you were able to start off and devote 3-4 hours per week to the development of your online business using the tips and tricks highlighted within Wealthy Affiliate, well that would equate out to 150-200 hours roughly per year. And that is quite easy to accomplish just by re-prioritizing some things in your life. Work a little harder today for a better tomorrow.

All things being considered answering the question “Can You Make Money Promoting Wealthy Affiliate or Any Other Affiliate Program Online?” is not as simple as a YES or NO. It is far more complex and depends on a variety of factors, the most important of which is determined only by you and your commitment to your own success, but the short answer of course would be YES you can make money in affiliate marketing, the amount of money that you can or will make is determined only by you and your own creativity however.

So with that in mind, and I hope that I have answered the question to your satisfaction, and as I close out this question I feel the need to end the response with a question for you:

Are you willing to sacrafice a couple of hours of your time a week to begin the process of learning, to begin developing your very own affiliate marketing empire?

Q- How Can Wealthy Affiliate Give Away Free Websites to the Free Members? Don’t Those Cost Money?

A-

That is a very fair question and one that I would gladly respond to so as to give you a better understanding as to how the system works.

In the FREE starter membership you are given 2 free websites /blogs that you can use to develop any content that you desire. Those sites are then hosted on the Wealthy Affiliate “SiteRubix.com” domain. So your site becomes a sub-domain.

So say you were to develop a site john’s coffee and donut shop to promote your new venture. Well if you purchased the domain name johns-coffee-and-donut-shop.com then you would own that domain and you would have to pay to host it somewhere. That could cost anywhere from a couple of dollars a month on up. But let’s look at the siterubix sub-domain example, you pick the name and it is hosted on the Wealthy Affiliate platform the site would become johns-coffee-and-donut-shop.siterubix.com and would not be a typical .com domain, but a sub-domain of the Wealthy Affiliate siterubix platform. There is no real cost to Wealthy Affiliate to host your site on their platform or their servers. That is how they are able to give each member the 2 free websites.

The Premium membership allows for you to host 25 siterubix.com sites as well as 25 of your own domain names on their servers. If you have never owned a domain before you need to know that there are basically a couple of costs associated with owning a domain, the registration of the name and then the hosting of the site to make it live online. Well at Wealthy Affiliate they are helping to take the bite out of the cost of doing business. You also have the ability to purchase domain names directly through Wealthy Affiliate, or if you own a domain that is hosted elsewhere then you can transfer that domain within Wealthy Affiliate and take advantage of one of your hosting spots.

You, of course, can purchase your domain names through any nameserver of your choice.  Some of them that immediately come to mind are ThriftyWebDomains.com (I mention this one because it is an affiliate site that I own, so sort of a shameless plug if you will) or namecheap.com, hostgator.com, or godaddy.com just to name a few. The only drawback to buying a domain name outside of Wealthy Affiliate is that when you buy a name from most other services they require you to leave it there for 60 days, so if you are desiring to get yourself started with a free siterubix domain to get yourself going you can usually purchase the domain for less but may need a short time before you can execute the transfer, just some food for thought. This can be done however and when you are ready to transfer or migrate your siterubix site to your own domain it is painless to do within the platform.

Q- Can you let me know just what this is all going to cost me to get involved, the membership fee or any ongoing fees?

A-

  • Gladly, the Starter Membership at Wealthy Affiliate is free of charge, just go signup, NO credit card required. And you can remain a FREE member as long as you like (forever is not too long). Of course, if you desire to avail yourself of the additional services as a PREMIUM MEMBER there is a cost associated with that, and as of this writing, the cost is $49.00 per month (still very reasonable for the value of the content that you receive. Just the fact that in the premium membership you are allowed to develop and host 48 additional sites is well worth the membership cost).

Q-  In addition to the monthly fee for the premium membership if I choose to go that route what other costs would I need to incur — such as Pay-per-Click costs, to drive traffic to my website(s).

     A-

It all depends on the strategy that you choose to market your site. Although Wealthy Affiliate does teach about the pay-per-click (ppc) marketing, it isn’t  however recommended for beginners. In the world of Internet marketing you need to have your ducks in a row so to speak before you can make ppc a profitable method of marketing. Instead, Wealthy Affiliate does teach you how to find keywords that aren’t that competitive and also how to write blog posts about those topics/keywords that will attract free search engine traffic and I think that we all can agree that free traffic if sourced properly is far better than paid traffic. If you study and master this approach and stick with the free websites WA provides, there are no extra costs. Just remember that those free websites are subdomains on the Wealthy Affiliate siterubix platform.

If and when you decide that you want your own domain name (and there are of course advantages to having your own domain) but you can start off with the free site and host and when you do secure your own domain  you can move the free websites over with one click, and WA takes care of all the details like setting up the redirects from old site to new site so that Google will continue to find your pages. If you do go the private domain name route then, of course, you will need to pay for your domain name, which is around $10 to $15 per year depending on where you purchase the domain name from as I said I actually own ThriftyWebDomains.com and I just registered a new domain there for an upcoming project for a two-year registration it cost me only $17.60 including the transaction fee.

Of course to be completely transparent here and answer the question truthfully the private domain registration is an added cost as shown above but will be an advantage in my opinion in the long run for the niche I am to be developing. So that $17.60 is the best investment I could have made in the future of that business.

When you join affiliate programs that will pay you a commission for sales you send their way will hopefully offset any additional fees that might be incurred for additional services that will help you to grow your business.

Some other types of additional services that you might want to pay for eventually might be services to manage your newsletter subscribers if you choose to add a signup form for an email newsletter to your website. This again, all depends on the strategies that you choose to market your page. However, to get started with basic affiliate marketing using search engine optimization (seo) techniques that are taught within Wealthy Affiliate can be done with no additional costs.

  1. Thanks for this informative article. It certainly answers a lot of questions, and I know from my own experience that Wealthy Affiliates is top notch in their training and support.

    1. Thanks for the feedback Miranda, so far the journey here for me personally at Wealthy Affiliate has been a great learning experience, not to mention having been able to make some money along the way. So you too would recommend Wealthy Affiliate to others?

  2. Dr. Carl,
Thank for the in depth information presented in such an understandable fashion. You certainly covered a lot of the questions on the program.

From my own experience, Wealthy Affiliate is a treasure chest of knowledge – training that is valuable, high quality, updated regularly and a Community of World Class members that practice the philosophy of helping others – if you have a question, you will be helped.

I would recommend Wealthy Affiliate to anyone serious about diving into doing business online.

    1. Claudio,
As a person that spends the majority of my life teaching and writing, I always appreciate feedback. The worst thing that can ever happen when you are teaching is you put forth a comment or concept and look out into the classroom and see 30-40 blank stares looking back. The best case scenario, of course, is looking out into that same classroom and seeing the proverbial light bulbs over the heads of an excited group of people. The Internet world is very similar if you write or post something and no one ever reads it, then have you wasted your time, not in my opinion. The comments that we receive from others allows us to know if we are on the right track, so that being said, thank you for your feedback (now that was a long journey to get to the thanks, wasn’t it?)

You mention your experience within the Wealthy Affiliate community, which like you I have found to be extremely helpful when called upon, of course not to mention the highest caliber of training available. But, how long have you been involved within the community yourself personally, and how is your venture going? Would love to know.

AS always please feel free to visit our site here at https://millionaire-marketing-yoda.com often, after all, you never know what you will find.

      Respectfully,
      Dr. Carl
